My grandson lives in East Point and will be attending public school soon. My daughter and son-in-law have been attending all meetings, doing everything to get this school up and running. I live south of Atlanta and have been very concerned with the quality of education my grandson would receive but now we feel he has a chance. As grandparents, we will be doing all we can to see that this school flourishes for the children of the tri-cities, Thank you!!

My children are in middle age...My grandchildren are old, too. My great-grandchildren are young, but alas, they live in Virginia. Education is important. Go With God on this project. Two questions, tho: Why can't the public school system in your area be fixed so it becomes a terrific place to send our children? and, Why do you have, at the end of your guestbook, those email addresses of people who are supportive of your efforts? Seems as though it leaves them open to prying....
ryal....love me

When $18,000.00 looms in your face for private education, and the other option is the public school which is ranked at the bottom of state success numbers.......you can only turn to developing an educational plan that the neighborhood is behind. This Charter school is critical for our children.

We have lived Jefferson Park for over 10 years now, and we have seen many families move away before their children start school. We now have a 3-year-old, we don't plan to move, and we would love to have the opportunity for a free and public education in our own neighborhood. I am a teacher, so I know my daughter will receive a quality education, even if it means that I homeschool. I would love for my child to go to school, have friends, and be a part of the community where we live!

We have a 4 year old and 20 month old twins. The new charter school would be a huge incentive to stay in East Point and continue to provide a tax base for the city and the county. Without it, we'd have to leave, sell our house at a loss and effectively cost tax dollars. If enough people are of the same frame of mind, this could result in a real impact. We moved to East Point to raise a family but will leave if we can't provide our children with decent educations.

East Point and the surrounding area is in desperate need of an education alternative that does not require $20,000 a year to attend. Without TMSA's well thought out and obviously dedicated supporters, we will all see the progress made in the last 10-15 years to this area of South Fulton go down the tubes as families begin moving back out of the area in order to have a CHOICE in where their child(ren) attend(s) school. I have a smart four year old who will likely be home-schooled if TMSA is not approved and implemented.

I have a 5 & 3 year old, and am expecting another in July. We need The Main Street Academy! I want it not only for the sake of my children and choice in their education, but for my neighborhood. I'm tired of watching friends and neighbors move for better schools for their children. I want to encourage families to move to our wonderful area, but they hesitate when they learn of the school options here. I want to no longer consider moving from a place I love for the sake of my children's education. We need choice, NOW.
